Used as a catalyst for polyurethane synthesis and room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber. Stannous caprylate has greater catalytic activity than dibutyltin dilaurate during curing. If the two are used in combination, the effect is better than that used alone, and the reaction speed and curing speed can be taken into account. Since tin bivalent compounds are easy to be oxidized and decomposed by oxygen and water vapor in the air, they must be sealed to avoid high temperature and excessive humidity when stored for nitrogen protection, in case of decreased activity or failure.
